Servicing
According to the Office of Fair Trading, all major makes of new car in the UK will in the future be sold without servicing ties as part of their warranties.
The remaining manufacturers whose new car warranties included servicing ties have all now lifted their servicing restrictions. Consumers will now be able to choose freely where they have their new car serviced.
The move comes after an OFT study into new car warranties found that the "dealer-based extended warranties" offered by many manufacturers included terms requiring that new cars be serviced at a garage belonging to the manufacturer's franchised dealer network, limiting consumers' ability to choose where to have their car serviced.
Consumers should now benefit from increased choice and competition between franchised and independent garages.
All vehicles serviced by Village Motor Company are serviced to manufacturers' recommended servicing schedules, using original quality parts, to maintain the validity of the manufacturers' warranty. A relatively small investment in servicing can pay dividends by:

- Ensuring vehicle can return optimal fuel consumption
6 month service (interim)
Designed for high mileage drivers, or specialist vehicles where the manufacturer calls for shorter than normal service intervals. Includes engine oil and filter change, as well as inspection of running gear vital for safe and reliable vehicle operation. If we do identify any work that needs to be carried out to ensure the safety or reliability of your vehicle we will of course contact you with a cost estimate for the work before proceeding.
12 month service (full)
A comprehensive package of checks and replacements. At Village Motor Company we aim to exceed manufacturers' service schedules with upwards of 70 checks and adjustments. As well as replacement of items such as engine oil, spark plugs, air and oil filter, we present you with a comprehensive report of the status of items on your vehicle which are subject to routine wear and replacement such as brake pads, tyres and shock absorbers.
24 month service (major)
As well as covering all items in the full service, this covers items needing routine attention at longer service intervals for instance replacement of brake system hydraulic fluid and fuel system filters etc.
